INVERCLYDE’S Dementia Resource Centre has received a £1,000 donation from Amazon in Gourock.
The donation will go towards refurbishing the local Alzheimer Scotland base, which was nominated for support by members of the the Amazon community programme.
A variety of services are available to help local people and their families, in the form of day and evening care, specialist support and advice, community activities and education.
The local team consists of a day care and evening care team, dementia adviser, post-diagnostic support link worker and community fundraiser.
Amazon Gourock’s community champion, Gillian Maxwell, said: “We hope this donation will help the charity to continue the fantastic services it provides.”
Centre service manager, Pauline Rankine, added: “We would like to thank Amazon for their generosity and support. We will be creating a larger complementary therapies room and expanding the garden area.”
