FIZZ and football are on the menu at Morton’s first ever Ladies Day at Cappielow on July 29.

The bash – which includes a two-course lunch and unlimited Prosecco – takes place on the day that Ton clash with Edinburgh City in the Betfred Cup.

There will be a pop-up cocktail bar in the stadium’s newly-revamped 1874 Lounge, with expert mixologist Jamie Alexander, the assistant manager of Blue Dog in Glasgow pouring.

Lesley Ann Webb, Ton hospitality executive, said: “It’s the first time we’ve held a ladies day and we’re really excited about it.

“We have special Morton cocktails including French Mortini and Ton Collins.

“We’re hoping this is the first of many events.

“It will be a proper ladies day, so we are asking people to dress for the races and it is open to women of all ages.

“We expect the players and managers to come along and meet with guests as well.”

DJ favourite George Bowie and Edward Reid will provide the entertainment.

There will also be a raffle with a fabulous Mar Hall spa day up for grabs and goodie bags to take away.

Morton chief executive Warren Hawke said: “Huge credit should go to Lesley for coming up with this idea. I am sure the ladies will have a fantastic time.”

The event is being held on July 29 and organisers expect the event to be a sell-out as there are only 20 tickets left.
