Arrest made in attempted murder case
DETECTIVES investigating an attempted murder in Greenock have made an arrest.
Officers confirmed they have a 19-year-old man in custody in connection with an alleged attack which happened in Cathcart Street outside Red nightclub in the early hours of Saturday.
The incident, which happened around 2am, saw a 20-year-old man suffer serious head injuries.
He was rushed to Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
Officers say the victim remains in the hospital, where his condition is described as ‘serious but stable’.
The arrested man is expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court today.
