NEARLY 30 runners completed a 5k race in after joining a popular local running group.
They are the latest graduates of the Inverclyde Couch 2 5K — a club set up for people who have not run before or who have not pulled on their trainers in a long time.
A total of 34 men and women completed the most recent nine-week block and 24 completed the Greenock Parkrun on September 9 with others missing out due to work and other commitments.
Co-organiser Stephen Jenkins, who lives in Port Glasgow, said:
“It was a great day and the graduates had their family and friends down ‘the splash’ cheering them on.”
A new programme starts tomorrow due to demand.
It is free to take part and starts at the Cove Road end of Battery Park at 9.45am.
