THIS is the moment London terror bombing suspect Yahyah Farroukh visited Inverclyde and sailed on a CalMac ferry to visit fellow Syrian refugees.

The 21-year-old boarded the boat at Wemyss Bay terminal before travelling to Rothesay on a day trip.

Pictures posted on his Facebook page show him standing on the deck of the ferry with his hands in his pocket.

Farroukh is currently being quizzed by police on suspicion of terror offences following Friday’s bomb attack at Parsons Green tube station in London which left 30 people injured.

He was arrested on Saturday in Hounslow, West London, and his house in Stanwell is being searched.

It is understood he came north of the border to visit relatives, one who is understood to live in Greenock.

An 18-year-old man has also been detained in connection to the bombing after being caught at Dover port in Kent on Saturday.

He is thought to be an Iraqi orphan who moved to the UK when his parents died and was fostered by Ronald, 88, and Penelope Jones, 71, who have taken in hundreds of children.

Neighbours of alleged bomber Farroukh in Surrey claim his family would come and visit him from Scotland in the months before the attack.

When asked about the terror suspect’s trip on their vessel, a CalMac spokesman said: “Security of our customers and staff is always CalMac’s number one priority.

“During the recent upgrade to ‘critical’ security alert we advised staff on all vessels to be extra vigilant in their health and safety inspection duties.

“Even though the threat has now been downgraded staff remain on high alert.

“We will continue to closely liaise with the police on this matter and take any measures they think are necessary to help ensure the ongoing safe delivery of our services.”
