CELEBRITIES can’t get enough of a Greenock mum’s new business venture.
Fiona Wilson’s three-year-old daughter Maisie inspired her to start making and selling children’s accessories from her home in the town’s James Watt Way.
In less than a year she has amassed a huge online following and her products are in demand across the world.
The 30-year-old has a long list of famous clients including TV personalities Katie Price and Katie Piper as well as Bob Geldof’s daughter Fifi.
Fiona, who lives with her husband Alex, 28, said:”I started it a little over a year ago and it has quickly grown.
“I have almost 12,500 thousand followers on Instagram and have even had celebrities like Katie Price, Katie Piper and Fifi Geldof.
“I hand make my items and have a large range of kids hairaccessories, mouse ears and wooden nesting dolls.
“I’ve also sent orders to Australia, New York, California, Israel, Germany and more.”
Fiona, who studied occupational therapy at university, said being a stay at home mum motivated her to set up her own business.
She added: “I don’t have much in the way of childcare so I thought I may as well try and start something myself.
“I have always been quite crafty as I like to upcycle things.
“When I built a dolls house for Maisie, everybody was saying that I should start my own business.
“So Maisie was my inspiration.
“I didn’t expect it to come to much but it has really taken off.”
Fiona, who called her business Minkleberry Kiss, makes a vast range of children’s items including wooden nesting dolls and Disney inspired hair accessories.
She added: “Katie Piper’s daughter has got some of my nesting dolls and hair band while Bob Geldof ’s daughter has some of my mouse ears, which is really flattering.
“I have been able to have a good income for myself and be a stay at home mum without having childcare.”
