A TOP team of go-getters got mucked in to raise more than £1,400 for Cancer Research UK.

Local Slimming World consultants Lisa McNellis, Susan Nichol and Stephanie Campbell took the plunge at Pretty Muddy at Bellahouston Park.

The girls were part of a bigger team of Slimming World experts who took part on the day.

Lisa, 44, who was running in memory of her mother-in-law Mary McNellis and brother Jim Dornan, said the girls had a ball.

She said: “We had a brilliant day. It was a fabulous atmosphere in the park, a real sense of camaraderie.

“The marshals and everyone around the course were very supportive, even when they were throwing water and mud over you.

“At the moment as a team we have raised around £,1300 with money still coming in. We had great fun and have raised an amazing amount for a charity close to all our hearts.

“So a massive thank-you to everyone who sponsored us.”

Lisa who shed five and a half stones and dropped from a 20 dress size to a trim 10/12, said she couldn’t have predicted doing something like this.

She said: “I don’t think any of us would have considered this challenge had we not lost weight and regained our confidence through Slimming World. It really can change your life.”

Susan, 40,who was running to support her sister-in-law Marie Coyle, who is fighting cancer in Australia, said she would do it again next year.
She said: “It was fantastic. It was a really good day. We will definitely do it again next year. It’s for a good cause.”
