JAMIE Greene MSP met with Lord Duncan, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Scotland Office, in London to discuss future investment in Scotland and Inverclyde.

Lord Ian Duncan was appointed Parliamentary under Secretary of State in the Scotland office in June this year.

He had previously been a Member of the European Parliament for the Conservative party before becoming a member of the House of Lords in July this year.

Mr Greene, who is from Greenock, says it was good to meet with Lord Duncan to discuss issues such as the Glasgow City deal which are ‘of real importance’ to the west of Scotland.

He added: “The meeting was extremely productive, and I’m confident that Inverclyde will be one of the places to benefit from the investment that the UK Government is putting into Scotland.

“Meetings such as these provide real reassurance that work is being done to ensure Scotland gets appropriate funding and investment and that we should work together, across the border, to ensure the best deal for Scotland.

“The city deals and regional deals are very important to the various areas of Scotland receiving investment, such as Inverclyde, and so it was good to discuss the funding of these projects with those who facilitate them.”
