GREENOCK Rotary has given hundreds of pounds to local good causes.
They handed out £500 each to Ardgowan Hospice, Erskine Home for military veterans, Macmillan Nurses, Disaster Aid UK and Ireland and West College Scotland’s Playlist for Life project, which aims to make it possible for every person with dementia to have access to a playlist of personally meaningful music.
A sixth cheque for the same amount will be sent to ShelterBox, who provide relief supplies for disaster areas.
Unfortunately they were unable to send a representative on the day.
The cheques were presented by club president, Ann Lockhart.
Club spokesperson Bob Burns said: “The donations were greatly appreciated by the recipients.
"Each representative was invited to say a few words on how the money would be used, and it was humbling to see what a difference such a sum of money can make to people’s lives.
"It is thanks to the generosity of the people of Inverclyde for making this possible.”
