MAKE-UP maestros from the college in Greenock have impressed industry bosses after working on a hit TV show.
The talented students, who are on the HND Make-up Artistry course at West College Scotland’s Finnart Street campus, worked on blockbuster time travelling series Outlander.
Their expertise has also led to them working on BBC One drama River City, plus Irn-Bru adverts.
Maureen Manley, who is the course leader, says the students have been outstanding.
She said: “I’m astounded by the level of work they are producing.
“It’s phenomenal.
“We have got really good links within the industry, which is really important.
“The students have worked on TV programmes such as Outlander, River City and adverts.
“They are doing a lot of work.
“They also worked at the Edinburgh Festival back in August, which was a great on the job experience for them.”
There are currently 20 students on the course, which is run by lecturer and accomplished make-up artist Isobel Donald.
Maureen said: “It used to be that you would have to go to London to pursue a career in make-up artistry but there is now so much work here in Scotland.
“Lots of high profile actors are working here.
“Isobel has worked on films like The Railway Man, which starred Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman.
“It’s great for the students as they look up to Isobel and now have the chance to work alongside her.”
