THERE are now six confirmed cases of swine flu in the Greenock area.

Health bosses revealed the latest sufferer is a 22-year-old woman, who was confirmed as having the virus after her three-year-old boy tested positive yesterday.

Scotland now has 10 confirmed cases, with four possible cases under investigation.

Commenting on the 22-year-old woman, Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: 'The patient"s symptoms are mild and her condition is not giving cause for concern.

'I would reiterate the risk to the public from this virus remains low.

'However, it is important we all do everything we can to limit the spread of the virus by taking simple, sensible precautions like good hand washing.' Ravenscraig Primary School, above, Ladybird Nursery and the Enterprise after-school club were closed for one week as a precautionary measure last Wednesday, and are all expected to re-open tomorrow.

The three-year-old was linked to the precautionary closure of the nursery.

Inverclyde"s first case, rugby player Michael Frizzel, 19, is now home after getting the all-clear.

A five-year-old Ravenscraig pupil, his 45-year-old mum and a 16-year-old James Watt College student became confirmed cases on Friday.

College bosses confirmed the 16-year-old student had not attended the college for more than seven days before testing positive.
