A FATHER and his stepson have been ordered to pay back £1,737 in profits made through their drug-dealing empire.

Alan Bach, 35, and his stepson, William Bach, 20, will be forced to forfeit the money under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

The duo did not defend the claim, made at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday.

Bach senior, who hid cocaine in chocolate Kinder Eggs as part of the family drug-dealing operation, was jailed for six months in November.

He had pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and amphetamine from his home in Craigieknowes Street, Greenock, last June. Bach junior pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of amphetamine from the same house on the same date.

The court was told a police raid uncovered 11 wraps of cocaine in the children"s sweets.

Bags containing nearly 400 grammes of "speed" were also found.

Depute fiscal Nadine Dormer said officers found the drugs after arriving at the property with a search warrant.

She said: 'They began looking through the house and firstly found 11 wraps of white powder in a Kinder Egg in the living room.

'A large sealed bag was found by two officers in a bedroom of the flat, as well as 23 individual wraps of white powder, all of which turned out to be amphetamine.

'Bags containing sums of £575, £100, £450, £162 were also found in the bedrooms.'

Sentencing the pair last November, Sheriff John Herald said: 'This court has been very clear for many years that people who deal in the supply of illegal drugs will go to prison. Alan Bach, you were involved in this very enterprise and will serve six months in prison.

'William Bach, you have no previous convictions, and I take into consideration your age, but it is still with hesitation that I place you on community service for 240 hours.

'Be warned that any problems completing this and you will follow your father straight to prison.'
