MODEL STAR: Rebecca Jones.

A GORGEOUS Greenock schoolgirl became supermodel for the day at a glamorous fashion photoshoot.

TeenIdol winner Rebecca Jones, right and inset, celebrated her catwalk crown with an exclusive portfolio session at N&N Photography in Paisley.

Rebecca, 13, tried out three different looks and had her hair and make-up done by professionals.

And, as these pictures show, she was a natural in front of the camera.

Rebecca said: "I really enjoyed it. I loved getting my hair and make-up done and wearing all the clothes.

"The TeenIdol experience has made me so much more confident. It has helped me a lot.

"I'm going to take my portfolio along to modelling agencies to see if I can start to model part-time."

The determined fashionista battled it out against youngsters from all over Inverclyde to take the title earlier this year. Thousands of votes were cast in the competition and, after weeks of deliberation, our judges chose Rebecca as winner, with Levi Watts as runner-up and Gemma Campbell in third place.

Each youngster in the top three also received holiday vouchers as part of their prize.

Professional photographer Tom Hassan, of N&N Photography, will now compile a portfolio, worth £200, for Rebecca as a lasting memento of her modelling triumph.

Proud mum Allison said: "The photographer was fantastic and really put her at ease.

"He gave us lots of advice and spent a lot of time with us.

"TeenIdol was a fabulous experience for Rebecca and was a great opportunity."

TeenIdol was run earlier this year by the Greenock Telegraph, Oak Mall and Model Team.

Tele editorial manager Tom McConigley said: "The debut TeenIdol competition was a terrific success and we'd like to thank everyone who took part."

Mall marketing manager Lynsey Anderson said: "TeenIdol was a great success.

"It was great working with the Greenock Telegraph and The Model Team. We've had a lot of really positive feedback."

TeenIdol is set to return next year.
