TWO Greenock brothers were caught selling heroin by undercover police.
Ross Gallacher, 23, and Ashley Gallacher, 25, were caught in an undercover sting selling drugs on the streets of Greenock.
The brothers arranged the deals by mobile phones then met the undercover officers to hand over the drugs.
A police raid discovered 11 bags of heroin which, if cut into bags, would have been worth more than £4,000.
Fiscal depute Lindy Scaife told Greenock Sheriff Court that between them the brothers had sold the officers £100 bags of heroin on four occasions, after the deals were arranged by telephone.
She said: "As a result of these transactions, a search warrant was granted for Ross and Ashley Gallacher at a property in Oxford Road.
"During the course of the search, a large, knotted bag containing 11 small bags was discovered in a cupboard.
"The 11 eighth-ounce bags were valued at £1,100, but if sub-divided would have been worth more than £4,000."
Ross Gallacher and Ashley Gallacher, both of Dempster Street, admitted being concerned in the supply of diamorphine to two police officers.
The offence took place between 10 February and 25 February last year at Auchmead Road, Dorset Road and Oxford Road, and elsewhere, in Greenock.
Sentence on Ross Gallacher, represented by solicitor Aidan Gallagher, and Ashley Gallacher, represented by solicitor Derek Buchanan, was deferred for background reports on Tuesday.
Sheriff Rajni Swanney told the brothers: "I have to let you both know I am considering a custodial sentence."
