GREENOCK will welcome Cunard's flagship fleet of luxury liners over the next two years.
Clydeport has confirmed the Queen Elizabeth will visit Greenock Ocean Terminal for the first time in September 2011 - and the Queen Mary 2, right, will return for her second visit in the same month.
The visit of the magnificent trio will be kicked off by the Queen Victoria, left, when she arrives at Greenock Ocean Terminal in July this year.
The QM 2 and Queen Elizabeth will call at Greenock as part of a series of cruises around the UK.
Clydeport assistant operations manager Hugh Hardie said: "This is an indication that Cunard are delighted with the service we provide. They are prepared to send their biggest liner back to the terminal alongside the new flagship.
"The visits show Cunard are prepared to maintain the strong relationship we have built up with them since the building of the QE2.
"We're delighted to be welcoming the QM2 back." Thousands of Inverclyde people turned out to welcome Queen Mary 2 - the biggest, tallest, longest and widest ship ever built - when she called at Greenock in October last year for the first time. The luxurious liner carries 2,620 passengers, with a maximum capacity of 3,090.
The Queen Eliza-beth will be the second largest Cunarder ever built, at 92,000 tonnes, and is due to begin service this autumn.
The Queen Victoria weighs in at 90,000 tonnes
and was built at a cost of £300 million.
