THIEVES have stolen thousands of pounds of CCTV equipment from a block of flats.
The surveillance gear was taken from Peebles Court, below, in Greenock and is valued at around £3,000.
Police said the theft took place sometime between 22 March and 9 April.
Tenants are being decanted from the River Clyde Homes block, which has recently been targeted by vandals.
Residents had to be evacuated after the building flooded when vandals
damaged a mains water pipe during a break-in, causing extensive flooding which left 23 families in need of temporary accommodation.
Three flats are so badly damaged their occupants are having to be rehoused.
Some residents used Craigend Resource Centre as emergency accommodation, while other tenants stayed with family members.
Police have also been investigating reports of similar incidents in the area, after a boiler was stolen from a property in nearby Belville Street.
Anyone with any information relating to the theft from Peebles Court should contact Greenock police on 492500, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
