AN elderly driver was injured in a car crash in Greenock.
The crash, involving a Corsa and a van, took place in Newton Street.
It is thought the driver of the car had left his drive and was manoeuvring across the road.
The car had to be removed from a hedge outside Alt-Na-Craig Care Home.
Two fire engines, two police cars and an ambulance attended the scene at around 2pm yesterday.
The driver of the car received treatment from ambulance staff at the incident.
Neighbour John Ross, who lives, across the road from the elderly man, said: "I hope he is okay. He will have taken a jolt."
Meanwhile, Mr Ross said traffic markings had been an area of concern for residents for a number of years, and that accidents were a regular occurrence.
He said: "We have written to the roads department and contacted councillors.
"There are chevrons, but we need better traffic calming measures."
Police said they received a report of the crash just before 2pm, and that a man was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
