HAMMER TIME: Anne Devenay and Stuart Murray, of Ardgowan Hospice, and Linda McLuskie, from Merchant Homes, show off some of the items that will be up for grabs in the forthcoming charity auction that’s set to raise thousands for the charity.
THE contents of a heavenly home are set to go under the hammer to raise vital funds for one of Inverclyde’s favourite charities.
Thanks to a generous donation of designer furniture from leading housebuilder Merchant Homes, Ardgowan Hospice will be able to auction off the entire contents of a luxury five-bedroom show property.
Over 30 pristine pieces will be up for grabs at a special silent auction, alongside 70 valuable accessories - all of which are in mint condition.
Anne Devenay, of Ardgowan Hospice, said: “We are thrilled with the donation made by Merchant Homes and felt it was worthy of a special fundraising effort.
“The furniture and accessories are absolutely top-notch.
“We hope our many supporters will dig deep and get involved with the excitement of the auction.”
The donation includes items like designer sofas, bedroom furniture, dining room furniture, mirrors, lamps and ornaments, and people can view it from next week and lodge their bids.
Bargain-hunters can visit the hospice’s furniture shop at Carnock Street, Greenock, between Monday 23 and Saturday 28 August.
The store is normally open between 9am and 4.30pm, but special night viewings til 7pm will be available on 25, 26 and 27 August.
The hospice will also hold a prize draw for one of the double beds donated by Merchant Homes, giving each shopper the chance to win a fabulous piece of furniture, even if their bid is unsuccessful.
Linda McLuskie, Sales & Marketing Director of Merchant Homes, said: “We are delighted to support Ardgowan Hospice and the fantastic, crucial work they do.
“The furniture we have donated is of a very high standard and style and we hope that those who put in the winning bids will be able to recreate the luxury show home look in their own homes, while helping out an extremely worthwhile cause.”
