DOCK: Greenock Sheriff Court.

A MAN is expect-ed to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court today in connection with the death of Greenock man Brian Docherty.

The 24-year-old was arrested on Monday, six days after Mr Docherty’s body was found in his flat in Clynder Road.

Neighbours raised the alarm last Tuesday night because they had not seen the 55-year-old all day and couldn’t get an answer at his door.

Police swooped on the first-floor flat at 8.20pm and found his body inside. Forensics experts spent days combing the area for clues, before a cordon at the property was removed.

A spokeswoman for Greenock CID confirmed that a man had been arrested and said he is due to appear in court on petition later today.
