A GREENOCK man has been accused of stealing a woman’s car keys and vehicle from a Tesco car park.
Jamie O’Brien, 19, is alleged to have robbed the woman of the keys and her motor vehicle on Saturday.
The incident is alleged to have taken place at the car park of the Dalrymple Street store, right, in Greenock.
He is further accused of four road traffic offences.
O’Brien is accused of driving while over the legal alcohol limit in Patrick Street and Grey Place.
He is alleged to have given a breath reading of 64 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35. O’Brien, of Cedar Crescent, is alleged to have driven without a licence and without insurance in Patrick Street and Grey Place.
O’Brien is further accused of driving without due care and attention or consideration for other road users.
He is also alleged to have caused a vehicle to collide with another car and a wall,
damaging both vehicles and the wall. O’Brien appeared in private at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday.
The case was continued for further examination by Sheriff Rajni Swanney.
O’Brien, represented by solicitor David Tod, made no plea or declaration.
He was refused bail and is expected to appear at court again next week.
