Dealer caught with £10,000 stash
A DRUG dealer who was caught with almost 20,000 illegal pills has been jailed.
Paul Graham, 37, was jailed for three years and nine months at Greenock Sheriff Court after he admitted having the huge haul of drugs.
He was caught by police after a raid at his Port Glasgow flat.
Fiscal depute Pat Callander said: "Police received confidential information that the accused may be in possession of controlled drugs.
"Police attended his property and carried out a search.
"Officers recovered 15,291 diazepam, worth around £7,645, from a box in the living room.
"Within the bedroom and the kitchen, further drugs were found."
The haul included around 4,000 Class-B and Class-C pills, including illegal stimulants and sedatives, as well as 28 grammes of GHB or 'liquid ecstasy'.
The pills were valued at around £2,700, while the GHB was worth between £200 and £250.
Graham, of Highholm Street, Port Glasgow, pleaded guilty through solicitor Gerry Keenan to seven charges of supplying controlled drugs from his flat on 16 March.
Mr Keenan said his client had struggled with addiction the past, which was reflected in his record for crimes of dishonesty.
Sheriff Rajni Swanney told Graham: "You are not a stranger to the courts.
"I take into account what Mr Keenan has said but you were well aware of the consequences of supplying drugs and the view that the courts take of these offences which blight the community.
"The only appropriate sentence is a custodial one."
Sheriff Swanney sentenced Graham to three years and nine months in prison.
