DEACON Blue rounded off the final night of the Tall Ships with a barnstorming set in front of thousands of revellers.

The iconic Scottish band took centre stage to mark the last evening of the event before the boats sail out today.

It rounded off another busy day at the Tall Ships as thousands more people toured the docks where the 57 vessels are berthed and visited the Sugar Sheds and other site attractions.

It was the final performance before the Tall Ships set sail later today and the band was the latest big name to grace the stage following earlier performances by Lulu, Gamu and The Magic Numbers.

The four-piece, made up of Ricky Ross, James Prime, Lorraine McIntosh and Dougie Vipond, were given a rapturous reception as visitors got into the party atmosphere.

They belted out hits including Dignity to the delight of the vast crowd.

During the day, James Watt and Inchgreen docks were a sea of people as they lapped up the live entertainment, street theatre and perfect summer weather.

Earlier in the day local acts including 16-year-old Greenock girl Lauren Hair, who starred on Sky 1's Got to Dance, proved why she made it to the finals of the show with a superb routine in front of her home crowd.

The youngster was given a warm reception on the main stage in the afternoon as the crowds enjoyed yet another day of glorious sunshine by the River Clyde.

Other local acts including Bob Dylan tribute artist, Robert Harrison, performed on stage in the Sugar Sheds while Gourock singer Kristina Cox played warm-up act to Deacon Blue.

Onlookers were then treated to one of Scotland's biggest fireworks displays to conclude the final full day of the Tall Ships 2011 in Greenock.

- Today sees the spectacular Red Arrows in action over the Clyde - the display begins at 11.30am. As soon as the display is over, the boats will begin to make their way out of the docks and down the river for the departure from Greenock, known as the Parade of Sail.
