JUST POPPED IN: The girls with visitor, Stuart McMillan.

A LOCAL MSP visited a Greenock-based youth charity last week to see first hand the positive impacts of a national jobs scheme.

Stuart McMillan stopped off at Ocean Youth Trust, in East Blackhall Street, where he met two administrative assistants who secured placements there through the Community Jobs Scotland scheme.

Stephanie Lang, 20, and 24-year-old Karen Mcilroy have been working at the trust since December.

Karen said: "It was nice to meet Mr McMillan. He was really interested in the scheme and how we have been getting on with our jobs."

Stephanie, left, and Karen, middle, both work full time at Ocean Youth Trust.
