Quality of life prize for area
COUNCIL services were given the thumbs-up by residents in a new survey.
The results of the latest Citizens' Panel Survey also gave a glowing report of Inverclyde as a place to live.
Two questionnaires were handed out in 2011, one in spring and the other in autumn.
Among the findings, 84 per cent of 627 panel members surveyed in autumn were either satisfied or very satisfied with their neighbourhood.
Nearly three-quarters said they were either satisfied or very satisfied with Inverclyde as a place to live.
A further 81 per cent said they had seen council-arranged events promoted in the Tele and 79 per cent said they had visited the McLean Museum in Greenock.
Council lea-der Stephen McCabe, right, said: "These surveys are essential as we develop and deliver our plans to improve the quality of life in our communities.
"They give us a clear indication of what we are doing right and of course the areas where people feel things could be improved. It is only by listening can we put public money to best use."
The spring survey focused on the council's customer service performance, with 613 panel members responding to the questionnaire.
Results show 82 per cent of people who contacted the council via its website were either 'very or fairly satisfied' with how they were dealt with.
A further 79 per cent who contacted the council by phone were satisfied with their response as were more than three-quarters of people who visited the council offices in person.
