Water chiefs are investigating a series of problems including water loss in Gourock and Greenock today.

Scottish Water were alerted to a number of issues by customers such as their supply being cut off, low pressure and a discolouration of water at around 11.45am on Sunday.

It's thought a number of homes in Gourock were back to normal at around 2.45pm.

Scottish Water says it is looking into the cause of the problems which affected customers in the town and others in surrounding parts of Greenock.

A spokesperson for Scottish Water said: "We have had reports of loss water supply/low pressure and discoloured water from the Gourock and Greenock area. This is currently under investigation and we would hope to have supplies restored as quickly as possible."We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and cooperation."

Customers seeking further information or help are asked to contact Scottish Water freephone on 0800 7310840.
