Postman foils fraudsters
POLICE are urging residents to be vigilant after two conmen attempted to intercept a package destined for an address in Gourock.
The incident was reported on Tuesday afternoon to Greenock police, who later found the men were involved in a fraudulent scheme and attempting to intercept a package being delivered to an address by Royal Mail.
The culprits are described as black men with English accents who were accompanied by two children.
They were observed in the Trumpethill area of Gourock acting suspiciously.
Officers say that due to vigilant action from the postman and the householder, the attempted scam was foiled.
