RUSH-HOUR travellers were caught up in delays on the A8 through Greenock and Port Glasgow last night after a sudden downpour flooded the road.

Traffic heading westbound snaked through both towns after the heavy deluge.

Roads workers were on the scene to clear drains and remove water from the dual carriageway.

The problem eased after rain eased in late afternoon.
