INVERCLYDE is among the keenest areas in Scotland for showing interest in home renewable energy.

According to the first ever green energy league, people from the area have helped the west of Scotland take fifth place in the table, compiled by the Energy Saving Trust.

Solar panels were the west of Scotland's favourite 'green' purchase.

The Energy Saving Trust is urging homeowners in Inverclyde to act now and upgrade, before interest-free Scottish Government loans of up to 10,000 towards the cost of renewables systems end.

The scheme is currently due to finish in March.
