SUPER skaters have glided to success in competitions throughout the UK.

The thriving Waterfront Ice Skating Club triumphed at competitions up and down the country.

Rising skating star Megan McGeachy has wowed the judges with her excellent routines.

Megan, who competes in the level one ladies event, scooped first place at the Magnum Open competition last month as well as claiming first at the Blackpool Festival competition earlier this month.

She also won the Bradford Open competition which took place in January.

Meanwhile, Rebecca Carey, who also competes in the level one ladies event, finished second at the Magnum competition and won the Telford Open in February.

The talented youngster also scooped second place prizes at the Blackpool Festival competition and at the Bradford Open event.

Another rising talent at the club is Lewis Darrah, who competes in the level two men’s category.

He triumphed at the Telford Open when he won his event.

Lewis and his family also travelled down to London last month where he won the Leo Valley Open competition.

He also won his event at the Bradford Open competition.

In the ladies level three event at the same competition, Morgan Kaloheris scooped second place and Rowan Armstrong achieved fifth place.

As well as congratulating the winners, the club coaches were also keen to praise some of the younger skaters, may of whom were competing for the first time.

Meanwhile, 12 skaters excelled in the National Ice Skating Tests at the end of last year.

The talented members all passed including Laura Clarke, Level 7 Field Moves; Heather Kilpatrick, level 4 Field Moves, level 3 elements and level 3 free skate; Rowan Armstrong, level 4 Field Moves; Morgan Kaloheris, level 4 Field Moves, level 3 elements and level 3 free skate; Lewis Darrah, level 3 Field Moves, level 2 Field Moves, level 2 elements and level 2 free skate, level 1 Field Moves, level 1 elements and level 1 free skate; Holly Flynn, level 2 Field Moves, level 2 elements and level 2 free skate.

Other excellent results went to Megan McGeachy, level 2 Field Moves; Rebecca Carey, level 2 Field Moves; Christina Molloy, level 1 elements and level 1 free skate; Kayla Dobson, level 1 elements and level 1 free skate; Laura McMillan, level 1 Field Moves, level 1 elements and level 1 free skate; Amy Darrah, level 1 Field Moves, level 1 elements and level 1 free skate.

The club would like to thank all the coaches’ including Kayleigh Munro, Nicola Milne, Fiona MacKenzie and Ashley Mitchell who helped the skaters achieve their goals.

Now the club are rehearsing for their skating show ‘Music from the Eras’ on 7 and 8 May.

The show is a look back at music from the 1950’s to the current date and has been choreographed by the coaches Kayleigh Munro and Nicola Milne.
