A SUPER student from Greenock was jumping for joy this morning after securing top marks for his National 5 exams.

Brainbox Nathan Dunsmore bagged eight straight As — in chemistry, computing science, English, French, geography, maths, music and physics.

The Clydeview Academy pupil said he hardly slept a wink last night for thinking about his results.

They were delivered by Royal Mail postman Sean Graham who arrived at Nathan’s home in Forsyth Street just before 8am.

As he pulled out the certificate, Nathan’s face lit up.

He said: “I’m so chuffed and happy.

“I couldn’t sleep last night as I was a bit nervous.

“It’s such a relief and now I can celebrate.” Nathan, who has four siblings, hopes to go on to a career in teaching but for now he is just looking forward to returning to school for fifth year.

His proud mum Shirley said: “I’m ecstatic for him.

“We said to him it didn’t matter what results he got as long as he had worked hard.

“Nathan’s dad Craig is working through in Edinburgh today so we’ll probably throw a party for him and his friends at the weekend.”
