TWO Greenock sisters were left starstruck when they met one of the country’s best loved entertainers.

Jillian Deveney and her sister Heather couldn’t believe their luck when Ant McPartlin — one half of Geordie comedy duo Ant and Dec — posed for a ‘selfie’ with them during their Saturday Night Takeaway Live show at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro.

The 20-year-old, who works as a carer, says it was amazing to meet him in the flesh especially as she has been a lifelong fan.

She told the Tele: “It was brilliant as we were the second row from the front.

“All my family love Ant and Dec and Saturday Night Takeaway is our favourite TV programme so we were really excited to be there.

“During the show they came down through the aisles and we knew that people would try and get pictures with them so me and Heather dived out and he spotted us and came over and posed for a selfie.

“It was funny as he was singing at the time, even when we took the picture.

“Then when he went back on stage he gave us a wee wink — we’re so pleased and surprised that he did it as the place was packed out and I don’t think anyone else got a selfie.” Jillian says she would never have met the star if it wasn’t for her gran and grandad Ellen and Ian Nicholson.

She said: “They bought us a family ticket for the show as a Christmas present so it definitely was one of the best presents we’ve ever received.” As well as Jillian and Heather, their mum Fiona, dad David and brother Scott, who all stay in Forsyth Street, also enjoyed the action packed show on Tuesday night.

Mum Fiona told the Tele: “We were singing and cheering, the audience were fab and it was such a great atmosphere.

“Boyband Blue, reality star Joey Essex and TV personality Ashley Roberts all made appearances.

“The show translated brilliantly to stage as Ant and Dec’s personalities shone through and they seem like such genuinely friendly, down-to-earth guys.”
