VANDALS have repeatedly broken windows at Greenock’s showpiece Ravenscraig Stadium in recent weeks.
The council spent £1.7 million refurbishing the sports complex, improving the main stand and re-fitting dressing rooms and other facilities.
But vandals are trying to spoil the fun by smashing windows under the stand and facing out on to the football pitch.
Now the council is looking at ways to protect the stadium.
A spokesman said: “The stand at Ravenscraig Stadium has been the target of vandals over recent weeks.
“We have repaired the damage, and would ask that anyone who spots anything suspicious should contact the police.” He added: “Protective boards remain in place while we consider further security options.” As well as work on the stand, the stadium has a new running track and drainage has been improved on the pitch.
