A MAN has admitted to smuggling cannabis into Greenock Prison.
Stuart Coleman, 27, has had his sentence deferred for reports and told that the matter is ‘serious’.
He pled guilty to bringing the drug into the jail on 8 May ‘without reasonable excuse’ by concealing it on his person.
Greenock Sheriff Court was told that Coleman has a number of previous convictions.
Sheriff Ian Fleming told him that he was calling for reports ‘in light of the nature of the charge’, adding: “His is a serious matter.” Coleman, of Breadalbane Street, Oban, will learn his fate on 5 November.
