A TIRELESS hospice volunteer has been honoured for her work — and clinched £250 for the charity she loves.

Suzanne Nichol was a finalist in her employer Webhelp UK’s ‘Making A Difference Award’ and the firm made a donation to Ardgowan Hospice.

The service support manager from Greenock has worked with the hospice to help improve quality of life through a variety of fundraising efforts, ranging from running a marathon to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Suzanne said: “I feel honoured to have been recognised by my colleagues in this way. Webhelp have been so supportive providing auction and cash donations for many of my events.

“It’s a great privilege to be able to combine my professional work with a personal interest and raise money for a cause that has no doubt touched the hearts of many in the local community.” One of Suzanne’s most notable achievements was competing in the Strathclyde Park Triathlon, raising over £500 for the charity.

Locally, she has supported Webhelp’s involvement in the skills initiative scheme ‘The Recruit’, which sees budding entrepreneurs put their skills to the test in order to raise money for charity.

Through this scheme, Webhelp was able to donate £10,300 to Ardgowan Hospice.

Webhelp chief executive David Turner said: “A sincere congratulations to Suzanne for her outstanding effort and commitment. Charitable contribution is a key part of our company ethos, so we encourage and support every member of the team to make a difference in their local community where they can.”
