A DEDICATED health service worker from Gourock has scooped a top accolade for outstanding care and her commitment to helping patients.

Caroline Wilson has worked for NHS 24 for two years and was one of five members of staff from the organisation’s Cardonald HQ presented with an award after being nominated by her colleagues.

The 30-year-old from Gourock works as a learning and development administrator for the telephone health information service.

Caroline won the ‘Care and Compassion’ award in recognition of the difference she made in delivering positive outcomes for patients, partners and colleagues.

She was commended by her workmates for ‘looking for the greater good in how she can add value and benefit across the organisation’.

Caroline said: “I am really touched by the nomination. It is really rewarding to be recognised not just for the work I do, but also for the way I do it.” The awards were presented by NHS 24 chief executive John Turner, pictured presenting Caroline with her trophy.

He said: “NHS 24’s annual achievement awards recognise the positive difference that individuals within the organisation make towards providing an excellent service to patients and the public.

“Whilst we would like to thank all of our staff for their efforts in providing an important and integral service to the public, we want to take this opportunity to recognise individuals at our Cardonald HQ who were felt, by their own colleagues, to go the extra mile to provide a service for colleagues and the public.”
