A BONNIE braveheart is being tipped as a future highland dancing world champion.

Seven-year-old Chloe Arkley of Greenock is wowing judges at every competition after an exceptional hot streak of success.

The twinkle toed starlet has won an amazing 15 trophies since June and has claimed a staggering 191 medals since she started dancing two years ago.

Her mum Nicola Gray, 32, an ex-dancer herself, said: “I’m over the moon with her, she’s been absolutely brilliant.

“It’s nice for me as a former dancer. I’m really proud of her, she’s done so well.” “My mum is champing at the bit for a champion in the family as my wee sister Shannon was a highland dancer but she’s just given it up.” Chloe is a pupil at Linda Jackson Dance Academy, where her mum and aunt Shannon also studied.

She is working hard for her success and goes to classes twice a week and takes part in competitions every weekend.

Chloe, a pupil at Lady Alice Primary, said: “I like winning the trophies and going to the competitions.” Nicola, who lives in Braeside with Chloe’s dad Graeme Arkley and 14-year-old son Jordan Gray, said: “She’s one determined cookie.

“She is a perfectionist and picks things up really quickly. Linda from the dance academy is pushing her on to go to the Cowal Games next year.” Dance teacher Linda was swift to praise the mini marvel.

She said: “Her success is down to the fact that she works so hard and is so dedicated. She’s quite a perfectionist. When I tell her her corrections, she takes them home and practises them.

“Chloe’s got a nice natural ability but you still need to work hard to enhance your performance.

“She wants to dance at the Cowal Games because that’s where you win the World Championships.

“I see her as a future champion — it would be wonderful if she was world champion.”
