INVERCLYDE Academy’s boys were game for a laugh when they glammed up in killer heels and fab frocks for a good cause.

The sixth year ‘models’ wore it well when they put their fashion forward feet on the Miss Inverclyde catwalk in aid of Children In Need.

They strutted their stuff to howls of laughter from the front row and struck a few poses for the pupil paparazzi.

But the teen stars were delighted to be caught looking good on the runway to help the many disadvantaged youngsters who benefit from the much-needed money raised.

Head girl Christie Pollock, who organsied the event with head boy Philip Cannie, said: “It was an amazing day and the boys were brilliant.

“They all had fun as they partnered up with the sixth girls, who styled them for the day.

“It was a great laugh but it was also for a very good cause.

“Children in Need raises lots of money for young people who live in our own communities.

“There are people who go to our school who have been helped by the Children In Need and need a break in life.

“It was a huge motivation to make a difference.

“I think it is important that the sixth years lead by example in the school and we hope that other years will continue fundraising.” All the boys brave enough to dress like a girl raised £500 for the charity.

But double act Rhys Evans and Andrew Todd had the fur flying on the catwalk when they stole the Miss Inverclyde crown.

Their ‘cheeky girl’ look certainly showed them up for having a flair for fashion and they thanked their stylist Katie Donnelly.

On the day, the sixth year pupils did their school proud by also organising home baking stalls and other fundraisers to boost the fund’s coffers.

Now the head girl and boy are busy putting the finishing touches to their Christmas talent show which will feature a showcase performance from the senior pupils.
