ONE of Greenock Rotary’s hardest working members has been given a special presentation to recognise her achievements.
Lynne Chambers received the Endeavour Award, given to club members who have made significant contributions to its work over the past year.
The shield was originally presented to the club in 2000 by member Craig Spiers, who thought there should be a trophy for such a category.
Lynne received the award for organising the annual quiz night and coffee morning, and other community-based functions.
As part of her duties as convener of the community and vocational committee, she introduced theme nights to raise money for projects involving young people in Greenock.
She staged a French night, complete with can-can dancers from St Stephen’s High, and followed this up with an Oz night, both of which were very successful. She also has plans for an Italian night.
Lynne said: “I’m delighted to receive the Endeavour Award.”
