TWO teenagers have tragically died after an horrific road accident in Port Glasgow.
Police confirmed this morning that two men, aged 18 and 19, had died after the one-car crash in Old Greenock Road between Finlaystone Estate and Gleddoch House.
The accident happened at around 3.45pm yesterday afternoon.
The third man who was in the red Seat Ibiza car is believed to have walked away with minor injuries.
A police spokeswoman said she could not give any more details about the incident.
She said: “I can confirm that it was a fatal road crash.
“Two men, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, have died.” Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident just before 4pm yesterday afternoon.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
It’s understood that the men who died in the accident were the driver and his front seat passenger.
The victims are believed to be from Paisley.
The road was closed for hours as investigations were carried out and traffic diverted elsewhere.
Anyone with information about the accident is being urged to contact Sergeant Kenny Malaney at the divisional road police unit in Greenock on 101.
