A BOOZED-UP lout booted his stepmother’s mobility car in a foul-mouthed rage after being turned away from her home at two o’clock in the morning.

Jamie Hill, 21, arrived at the house in Greenock’s Davey Street on Sunday and repeatedly banged the front door following a bust-up with his girlfriend.

The shamed dad-of-one appeared in court from police custody the next day to admit behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards his stepmum and stepsister.

Prosecutor Lindy Scaife said: “The accused was immediately verbally abusive to the two females.

“His behaviour was witnessed by another man in the house and he was asked to leave.

“He left and entered the garden area where he picked up a concrete garden ornament and made as if to throw it. The police were called.” The court heard how Hill, pictured right, shouted and swore before kicking the wing mirror of the black Ford Zetec mobility vehicle, causing £75 worth of damage.

The Crown dropped an allegation that he had uttered threats, and accepted his not guilty plea to a charge of throwing a roof slate through a window.

Defence lawyer Gerry Keenan told the court: “The background is that he has been living with his girlfriend, with whom he has a child.

“He had fallen out with his girlfriend and had drowned his sorrows before gravitating back to the family home, where he was hoping for a bed for the night.

“He was let in but when the family saw the condition he was in. He became persona non grata and he has reacted in the way he has.” Mr Keenan added: “The family don’t want him back with them if he is granted bail but he does have an aunt’s house available to him.” Sheriff Ian Fleming deferred sentence on Hill for background reports and allowed bail.

But the sheriff ordered him not to enter Davey Street and not to contact his victims in any way.

He warned: “Nothing is ruled in and nothing is ruled out as far as a final disposal of this case is concerned.” Hill is due to be sentenced on 11 February.
