GRACEFUL dancers glided to victory in the festival’s Scottish Country Dancing competition.
Toes were perfectly pointed and subtle skips were in sync with the lively music as the primary seven youngsters from Aileymill Primary danced their way to festival success.
Eleven-year-old pupil Chantelle Smith, pictured here with her triumphant classmates, said: “I felt really proud when our class won.
“I really enjoyed dancing with other people from the school.
“We worked on our routine for weeks and weeks and I’m so happy it impressed the judges.” Eagle-eyed adjudicator Janet Johnston carefully watched each performance before giving in-depth feedback to the children.
She said: “The dancing in this category has been very good.
“All of the competitors worked very hard.” Closely following the Aileymill girls were Ardgowan Primary’s ‘Bute’ team, while Aileymill’s primary six squad finished third.
