Police officers swooped on Wellpark Buildings, pictured, in the early evening and discovered two cultivations of the class B drug.
The Violence Drugs and Alcohol Reduction Unit led the raid after they had earlier obtained a search warrant for the property.
The cannabis plants were found hidden inside.
There was no-one within the flat at the time officers entered.
This morning, Sergeant David Wilson of Greenock police said: “Our inquiries are ongoing at this time.” The two cultivations inside the flat would sell on the street for an estimated £50,000, according to police drug experts.
