ENTREPRENEUR Victoria Hamilton returned to school to inspire others to follow in her footsteps.

The Strathclyde Uni graduate spoke to the Higher Business Management class at Clydeview Academy about her journey into product and design.

The 24-year-old has won awards for her innovative invention, a super-protective knee pad, and gave a presentation at Clydeview in front of her old teacher Lynne McMillan.

Victoria, who went to the former Gourock High, said: “It was strange to be back with Mrs McMillan. I bumped into her one day and she invited me along. It is lovely to speak to the pupils. I told them that I never realised how relevant the Higher would turn out to be.” As a Higher pupil Victoria was at a crossroads about what to study at university before another teacher stepped in and suggested product design and engineering.

She added: “I loved maths, physics and art but I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do until this course was suggested to me. It was perfect for me.” Mrs McMillan added: “Our thanks go to Vicky for giving up her time to speak to the two Higher classes and giving an insight into the reality of business far beyond that which a text book or normal class lesson can ever give.”
