INVERCLYDE people are being encouraged to take advantage of a new online resource offering financial advice.

Supporting Inverclyde - Future Skills unveiled its new website recently at a launch in Greenock.

The website has information about the range of help being offered, and advises users how to access it.

Julie Allison, One Call & Lettings Manager at River Clyde Homes, says Future Skills is a Big Lottery-funded project whose aim is to provide help with money management, basic computing skills and using the internet.

She said: “They also teach how to use tablets/smartphones and offer advice on banking and getting a bank account. The services are available either at classes held throughout Inverclyde, or on a one-to-one basis at home.

“People needn’t worry if they don’t have a computer at home. Future Skills will bring the necessary equipment. All of the services are free and confidential and are available to all residents of Inverclyde.” The website also offers further information on a range of support services from financial inclusion partnership partners, with links to a variety of organisations.

Julie added: “Future Skills has helped many people to get online and source better deals and ways to make their money go further.

“This latest development will hopefully encourage even more people to either get financial advice or to contact us for help in getting to grips with technology.” To contact Future Skills for further information, or to access the service, visit the new website at www.futureskillsinverclyde.com or call 0800 013 2196 free from a landline or 788887.
