GREENOCK Wanderers’ Rugby Camp has attracted lots of eager youngsters during the Easter holidays.
Inverclyde’s rugby development officer, Brendan McGroarty, said he was delighted to see 20 children turning up on the first day to be coached on catching, passing, kicking and agility.
The five to 14-year-olds were split into two age groups for different levels of coaching. Most of the younger boys had never been to rugby before.
Brendan said: “Rugby is becoming more popular in Inverclyde. It’s encouraging to see the camp attracting youngsters who will hopefully go on to join the Wanderers.” The camp is being run under the auspices of the Ravenscraig Community Sport Hub.
