Police Scotland say that James Whiteside, 59, died along with his passenger Jacqueline Hennessey, 54, from Tullibody, in the accident on Wednesday afternoon.

His Yamaha motorcycle collided with a Volkswagen Golf on the A85 near Crianlarich on Wednesday afternoon.

Tributes have been paid to Mr Whiteside.

A fellow motorcyclist, who asked not to be named, said: “Jim was a lovely man who would talk to anybody.

“Like us all, he just lived for his motorbike and went everywhere on it. It is a terrible shame.” Fire crews, paramedics and an air ambulance were all called to the crash location but both the experienced motorcyclist and his passenger were were pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened at around 4.20pm on Wednesday.

The road was closed in both directions between the A82 junction in Crianlarich and the A827 road to Killin.

The driver of the car was uninjured.
