EMERGENCY services rushed to the scene of a crash on the A8 near Langbank.
The incident happened on the westbound carriageway at Langbank roundabout around 2pm this afternoon.
Eyewitnesses at the scene say a recovery truck and another vehicle appear to have been involved in a collision.
Police, ambulance and fire crews were all in attendance.
A person was trapped inside the car at the scene and the roof of the vehicle had to be cut off by firefighters so they could be freed and stretchered off in an ambulance.
Traffic was able to pass through the accident scene, with one lane closed, until the carriageway was cleared.
There are no details available from police as yet about the accident.
