THE A8 has reopened after two incidents earlier this morning saw it closed for seven hours.
Long traffic tailbacks were caused by two incidents during the morning rush hour.
The road remains closed between Woodhall Roundabout and Langbank with a 20-mile diversion in place.
The eastbound carriageway has been closed since 8am because of a broken down lorry leaking fuel and a crash involving three cars.
The fuel had to be cleaned off the road.
A spokesperson for Scotland Transerv said: "Drivers are advised to approach with caution and expect longer than normal journey times."
The diversion commences at Newark Roundabout and travels south on Clune Brae and Kilmacolm Road, Port Glasgow (both A761).
Drivers continue on the A761 through Kilmacolm, Bridge of Weir and Brookfield before turning right onto the B789 to Barrochan Interchange. Then turn left onto A737, travelling north towards the St James Interchange
