THE A8 was partially blocked in Port Glasgow after a trailer overturned during rush hour.
The accident happened just before 9am near Tesco, at the Anderson Street Roundabout.
Police and an ambulance rushed to the scene.
The HGV trailer was on its side and one lane was initially closed westbound.
Trafic Scotland later said that the road was closed to recover the overturned vehicle, with a local diversion in place.
