HOUSE about this — bingo lovers are in for a real tickety-boo treat as the Tele teams up with Greenock’s Mecca hall to bring you a host of lucky numbers games.

And to get the ball rolling, our reporter David Goodwin was invited along to be a guest caller at Mecca’s Container Way venue yesterday.

His pre-game nerves were cast aside as local players gave him a warm reception, and a cheer after he made one little duck’s day with a cash prize.

There’s plenty more to come, as readers will receive their first Tele/Mecca game card inside this Saturday’s edition — with numbers to be published throughout the week for a guaranteed £100 prize.

But don’t be too disappointed if you’re not our first winner — because our great fun games will be running every week until the end of November.

Mecca Greenock general manager James Watson said: “It’s brilliant to be involved with the Telegraph to bring bingo to people throughout Inverclyde.

“Bingo is a popular and fun pastime and hopefully everyone will enjoy playing along with our games in the newspaper.

“We can’t think of a better way to bring this type of fun to people.” Everyone in the huge hall answered ‘Yes’ when James asked them if they read the paper.

And when he officially announced our new bingo games, one woman remarked: “Oh, that’s great news!” James — whose hall offers players the chance to win £250,000 in national games — added: “The Tele is the paper that everyone reads — and you saw that today with the reaction of our players here.” Tele editor Brian Hossack declared that he was ‘delighted’ for the paper to be partnering Mecca. Brian said: “The paper is always packed with the very latest local news and entertainment but having these bingo games will give everyone something extra to look forward to in their Tele.” He added: “Special thanks to regular caller Mark Crighton for showing David the ropes today. I think everyone enjoyed the game.” It’ll be eyes down for a ton of cash every week from this Saturday onwards in our great bingo bonanza.

Don’t miss it!
